Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychological treatment originally developed to support individuals experiencing difficulties with emotional regulation and interpersonal relationships.
PsychService is pleased to offer our Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Group Programs for adolescents and adults seeking support with emotional regulation, relationships, impulsivity, distress tolerance, and self-understanding.
We are now accepting new referrals and expressions of interest for both our Youth and Adult DBT Groups.
Our DBT programs are facilitated by Dr Tania Pietrzak and co-facilitated by registered psychologists within our practice. These structured small-group programs provide practical evidence-based skills in a safe, supportive, and neuroaffirming environment.
Places are limited to maintain a supportive and personalised group experience.
DBT is now widely used to support a range of mental health presentations including:
- Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
- Anxiety & Depression
- Bipolar Disorder
- PTSD & Trauma-related presentations
- Eating Disorders
- Self-harm behaviours
- Impulsivity & emotional dysregulation
- Substance use difficulties
- Relationship difficulties
DBT focuses on helping individuals:
- regulate emotions more effectively
- improve relationships
- reduce impulsive behaviours
- tolerate distress safely
- build mindfulness and self-awareness
- strengthen self-esteem and identity
Psychservice 2026 DBT Group Program Details
Our DBT Groups are structured 10-week foundational skills programs delivered in a psychoeducational and therapeutic group format.
Sessions combine:
- psychoeducation and practical skills training
- guided exercises
- reflective and interactive discussion
- worksheets and take-home resources
- mindfulness strategies
- behavioural and emotional regulation techniques
- take-home strategies to support ongoing practice
The groups are designed to provide a supportive and respectful environment where participants can learn and practise new coping strategies while maintaining appropriate emotional safety and boundaries. While personal sharing is welcomed, the groups are primarily skills-based rather than process-oriented therapy groups. Where possible, we recommend participants engage in individual therapy alongside the group program to support personal therapeutic goals.
